Meeting Overview:

Dr. Megan Sandel leads breakout session on improving asthma care.

On December 18, 2007, ARC sponsored its Annual Meeting. Over 60 participants, representing the health, environment, housing and education sectors from all of the six New England states attended the meeting at the Hoagland-Pincus Conference Center in Shrewsbury, MA. Special guest Dr. Pamela Meyer, the CDC's Healthy Homes Coordinator, joined the meeting to update the Council on new Healthy Homes initiatives through the CDC, and also to observe the cutting-edge work happening in New England.

The meeting agenda consisted of speakers from across the six New England states who are engaged in model Healthy Homes programming, to share their experiences with the audience. They shared their policies and programs through a series of PowerPoint presentations. In addition, ARC's Executive Committee unveiled its new organizational Strategic Plan. The Executive Director explained the rationale and process behind creating the plan.  Finally, there were four topical breakout sessions on the topics of Asthma Surveillance, Indoor/Ambient Air, Healthy Homes, and Improving Asthma Care.

Below is a recap of the meeting, including our Agenda, Evaluation, PowerPoint Presentations, and ARC's new Strategic Plan.  Please contact me should you have any questions.
