Applications now being accepted for AE-C training and certification scholarships!
The New England Asthma Innovations Collaborative (NEAIC), a program of the Asthma Regional Council of New England and Health Resources in Action, is a Healthcare Innovation Award funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). One of the goals of this three-year project is to increase the number of Certified Asthma Educators (AE-Cs) in New England.
We are sponsoring partial scholarships for eligible candidates to register for the Asthma Educator Institute preparatory course for the AE-C examination (presented by the American Lung Association of the Northeast in conjunction with several regional partners) and to register for the exam through the National Asthma Educator Certification Board. NEAIC would like open up this application process to all institutions within the region that could benefit from this opportunity. Applications are now being accepted on a rolling basis. Click here to download the application.
Information on scholarships and training opportunities
The NEAIC program is offering partial scholarships for the course and/or exam (50% of fees incurred—please see the application for additional information). Please note that all of these scholarships will be processed as REIMBURSEMENTS for registration fees. The scholarship recipient or their organization must front the funds to register for the course and/or exam and, after receiving proof of completion, NEAIC will reimburse the cost.
Please note that applicants are strongly recommended to obtain and submit a letter of support from their supervisor along with their application.
Applications will be scored based on the following criteria: population/organizational need, asthma focus, history with organization, history of caring for patients with asthma, and employer support.
